Trichoderma Viride is the potential antagonistic fungus which prevents the crops from diseases viz. Root rots, wilts, brown rot, damping off, charcoal rot and other soil born diseases in crops. The hyphae of Trichoderma wrap around the pathogen fungi and produce antibiotics and extracellular enzymes, which lyses the cell wall of these pathogens that damage them. The fungicidal activity makes T. viride useful as a biological control against plant pathogenic fungi. Mode of Action:-
The active components of biopesticides made on the base of this fungus-antagonist are their spores, mycelium and products of metabolism.
• The fungus secrets cellulase and chitinase enzymes which react with cell wall of the disease causative pathogenic fungi or bacteria and dissolve the same.
• Trichoderma utilize the protoplasm as a source of food and multiply its spores. By this method the spores of the pathogenic fungi are destroyed.

Cells become hypotrophied and internal organelles and cell membranes are disrupted. Hirsutellin is a mycotoxin of a invertebrate mycopathogen determined to possess ribosomal inhibiting activity and appears to possess some specificity to invertebrate cells.
The mite fungal pathogen Hirsutella thompsonii produces a single polypeptide chain, insecticidal protein named hirsutellin A (HtA) that is composed of 130 amino acid residues. This protein has been purified from its natural source and produced as a recombinant protein in Escherichia coli.
HtA specifically inactivates ribosomes and produces the alpha-fragment characteristic of ribotoxin activity on rRNA. Behaving as a cyclizing ribonuclease, HtA specifically cleaves oligonucleotides that mimick the sarcin/ricin loop of the ribosome, as well as selected polynucleotides and dinucleosides. HtA interacts with phospholipid membranes as do other ribotoxins. As a consequence of its ribonuclease activity and its ability to interact with cell membranes, HtA exhibits cytotoxic activity.
H. thompsonii can cause spectacular natural epizootics among mite populations (citrus rust, blueberry, coconut,tomato mites, etc.) and is considered to be one of the key natural enemies of various mite pests.

Acetobacter diazotrophicus a biological fertilizer & is believed to be responsible for biological nitrogen fixation. The inoculated strain was detected inside low N-fertilized sugarcane plants by histochemical staining of β-glucuronidase and scanning electron microscopy. A. diazotrophicus was found mainly inside cortical cells of stems and inside xylem vessels.
