Effects: DL-Methionine is the essential amino acid containing sulfur. It is related closely to various sulfur compounds inside creatures. With supplement of DL-Methionine, the nutritive value is close to the value of milk protein. Besides, in the food containing Monosodium glutamate, DL-Methinoine can add flavor. It is the basic unit consisting of protein. And it’s also the only essential amino acid which contains sulfur. It participates the transfer of methyl inside and the metabolism of phosphor as well as the composition of adrenaline, choline and kreatin. It is the raw material of synthetic protein and cystine, and the methyl donor. It has three types, they are D-type, L-type and DL-type. Among general amino acid only L-type can be used in human body, while D-type could be transformed into L-type, which then can be used in human body.
