Hyaluronic acid (abbreviated as HA, also called sodium hyaluronate) is a straight chain macromolecular mucopolysaccharide composed of repeat disaccharide units of glucuronicacid and N-acetylglucosamine, which exists in the connective tissues of human and animals, including extra cellular space of human and animal tissues, vitreums, umbilical cords, skin joints synovia and cockscomb. Its molecular weight ranges from several ten thousand to several million. Its solution has extraordinary quality of keeping moisture, high viscoelasticity and lubricity. The applications are cosmetics, pharmacy and health and beauty food.
Cosmetic grade HA　
HA is also called Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF) due to its outstanding moisture keeping feature. It is the best component used in cosmetics for moisture keeping in the nature.
Macromolecular HA helps form an air permeable thin layer and keep the skin smooth and moist, and protect the skin from bacteria, dust and ultraviolet ray, while micromolecule HA penetrates into corium, and slightly enlarge blood capillaries, speed blood circulation, improve intermediary metabolism and nourishment absorbing ability of skin, eliminate wrinkles, increase skin\'s elasticity and postpone aging. HA can also further hyperplasia of epidermis cells, clean oxygen free radicals, prevent and cure skin breach. Its solution has high viscosity thickening water phase. Creams made of HA by emulsifying with oil are emulsification stable, equal and fine.

Medical grade HA
