Adding raw aluminum ingot ¡úHeat to 1328¡ãF (720¡ãC) ¡úadd alloying materials¡ú vertical casting¡ú cooling and homogenization¡ú3-1/2 inches to 10 inches in diameter (90 mm to 250mm) extrusion logs up to 26 feet (8m) in length.
2. Extrusion Presses
Cast log is cut to a shorter length or "billet"¡úthe birllet and extrusion die are heated ¡úHydraulic pressure forces the softened aluminum through the extrusion die to form the exact profile ¡úProfiles are cooled and stretched for straightness ¡úCut to length ¡úThermo-mechanical aging ¡úCompleted profiles moves downstream for finishing or fabrication
