What should we do when the air bubbles appeared in the process of mold making ?
To handle this situation depends on different cases. Under the condition of an available vacuum pumping machine, mix the silicon rubber and curing agent evenly and then take it to vacuum chamber to deair . If without a vacuum pumping machine, reduce the amount of the curing agent properly. For example, change the mixing ratio of the silicon rubber and the curing agent from former 4% to 1%-2%. In this way, the pre- crosslinking time of silicon rubber will slow down, so the air in the mold will be eliminated gradually to reduce the air bubbles.

Notes:
Shoe mold silicone rubber is used for pouring or brushing technique. That is to say, fix the product or sole model to be duplicated onto a plane plate, then enclose the plane frame with wooden plates to prevent the leakage of the silicone, mix the silicone rubber and the curing agent evenly according to the mixing ratio of 100 : 2 and pour them onto the sole model, then brush evenly with a wooden plate or a brush, and fill up the mold frame with gypsum after the silicone rubber is dried.

Part A is a flow able liquid silicone rubber, part B is the curing agent. Firstly, after your previous work of dealing with the original model, take some liquid silicone rubber , add 2%-3% curing agent of the amount of silicon, and mix them evenly. Then after vacuum-pumping the mixture, you can pour it into the mold frame. The silicone mold will cured in 2-3 hours.
Note: The time for vacuum-pumping should be less than 3 to 5 minutes, otherwise, once the silicone rubber has cross-link reaction during vacuum zing, it will not be operated.
FAQ of manual molding silicone rubber –
How to prevent silicone manual molds getting sticky?
The main reason for this problem is that you do not handle the products or original molds well, and then you should deal with the original mold or products carefully before molding. Such as for the products with a complicated pattern or an unsmoothed surface, you should polish and clean the products, after which it will be molded, then spray the release agent. Normally, the release agent can be Vaseline, detergent, liquid wax, etc. In practical process, you can bush different release agent according to different material.
The second reason is that the operator pours the silicone into the mold when the mixture is mixed evenly, then the finish silicone mold will not cure and dry entirely.

The molding silicone rubber, which belongs to the condensation cure silicone rubber is cured by absorbing the moisture in the air. During the mold making process, the water content in the silicone rubber is dried but not adding supplementing appropriate amount of water, so the above phenomenon arises. The solution is that: the phenomenon is not a quality defect; It arises because the water content is not well controlled in order to prolong the shelf life of the silicone rubber; proper amount of 0.05% water is enough to be added into the silicone rubber for even mixing during use.

RTV Silicone for GRC Moulds features description
RTV Silicone for GRC Moulds is white or red flowing liquid with general hardness of 22-50A° After curing. Molding silicon rubber is a kind elastic silicon rubber mold which features with resistance to deformation, high-temperature, acid-alkali and expansion as well as high reproduction times, good tensile strength, tear strength and elongation.
RTV Silicone for GRC Moulds operations
If the customer wants to make large products and large size molds, the mold should be made of silicon rubber with high hardness. On the contrary, if the mold with fine and precision patterns, GRC Moulding Silicones should be made of silicon with low hardness. The amount of the curing agent depends on the actual requirements of the customer. If molds requiring fast drying and demold, more curing agent is needed; Contrarily, if molds requiring slower drying and demold, less curing agent is needed.
(Note: Our company does not recommend you to add silicone oil. If a special soft silicone mold or fine detailed and complex patterns products are required, 5%-10% silicone oil can be added to soften the mold for easy demold.

a. Applications of Manual Molding Silicone Rubber
Manual Molding Silicone Rubber is mainly used for model design of manual mold, PVC plastic molds, cement products, low melting point alloy molds, alloy toys, plastic toys, electronics, handicrafts, stationery, large-scale sculpture, reproduction of cultural relic, shoe sole molds, pad printing allocation, Electronic equipment ant vibration, etc.
b. Model Codes of Manual Molding Silicone Rubber
HY-528# is applicable to make molds of smaller products and the production will be 2-3 pieces.
HY-540#, compared to other two types, for its moderate hardness and better quality & performance, its production will be 20-30 pieces.
HY-570# is applicable to large size products duplications and Electronic equipment ant vibration.
c. Operation Instructions for Manual Molding Silicone Rubber
RTV-2 Manual Molding Silicone Rubber is a flow able liquid, and the quality has nothing to do with the color. It consists of two commonest. Part A is a flow able liquid silicone rubber, part B is the curing agent. Firstly, after your previous work of dealing with the original model, take some liquid silicone rubber , add 2%-3% curing agent of the amount of silicon, and mix them evenly. Then after vacuum-pumping the mixture, you can pour it into the mold frame. The silicone mold will cured in 2-3 hours.
Note: The time for vacuum-pumping should be less than 3 to 5 minutes, otherwise, once the silicone rubber has cross-link reaction during vacuum zing, it will not be operated.

How to prevent silicone manual molds getting sticky?
The main reason for this problem is that you do not handle the products or original molds well, and then you should deal with the original mold or products carefully before molding. Such as for the products with a complicated pattern or an unsmoothed surface, you should polish and clean the products, after which it will be molded, then spray the release agent. Normally, the release agent can be Vaseline, detergent, liquid wax, etc. In practical process, you can bush different release agent according to different material.
The second reason is that the operator pours the silicone into the mold when the mixture is mixed evenly, then the finish silicone mold will not cure and dry entirely.
