The most efficient method of installation is on driven posts which are driven into the ground by means of a hydraulic driving rig.
Driven posts are the quickest method but whether they can be used depends upon the ground conditions and must be subjected to push / pull tests. If standard posts fail then extra long ones can be used. The posts no longer have pressure plates on them, making them easier to handle and the same post can now be used for verge or median applications.
Concreted-in posts take longer to initially install, but have one major advantage over driven posts: they can be used with sockets cast into the concrete footings (into which the posts slide once the concrete has set). This makes future replacement after accident damage faster and easier, saving in both time and expense.

Identification
Any work site with more than a six-foot vertical drop must have a guardrail installed to prevent falls.
Size
The guardrails must be between 39 and 45 inches above the surface of the work area. There can be no area in the guardrail without a horizontal rail occurring every 21 inches.
Strength
The guardrail must be capable of holding 200 lbs. of weight applied to the top two inches of the guardrail.
Considerations
If guardrails are not feasible for an area, a safety net or a personal fall-arrest system to prevent falling must be used.

Energy Absorbing Guardrail Terminal Platform Grading
1. The purpose of the guardrail terminal platform is to reproduce to the extent practical the physical conditions under which the terminal unit was tested for its NCHRP 350 test level certification.
2. The grading of the platform (from the platform’s edge perpendicular to the roadway) must not be any steeper than a 4:1 slope even if it requires grading down to the toe of the slope. This is to minimize the possibility of inducing lateral (side to side) instability to an errant vehicle.
3. The algebraic difference of the approach grade (from the platform’s edge parallel to the roadway slopes) compared to either the platform’s grade or the slope the approach grade ties into, must not exceed 10%. This is to minimize the possibility of inducing longitudinal (front to back) instability to the errant vehicle.
4. The above criteria are to allow the vehicle to remain stable if it leaves the pavement. It is essential that the approach grading for the platform blend smoothly from its edge to the roadway slope. In no circumstance should the design of the platform be compromised such that the platform itself could induce instability to the errant vehicle.
5. The “minimum acceptable design” for guardrail platforms without actually constructing a platform is to provide smooth grading with 4:1 or flatter slopes perpendicular to the roadway approaching, adjacent to, and behind the terminal for its entire length.
6. The “preferred design” should be used whenever possible and is required on roadways such as Interstates. For other types of roadways, if the preferred design cannot be accommodated due to right-of-way, environmental, or other constraints, then the “alternative design” should be used. If the constraints are still such that the “alternative design” cannot be accommodated, then the “minimum acceptable design” must be provided. The “minimum acceptable design” is only appropriate if the other platform designs cannot be provided.

Dafa metallic guardrail barrier comprises a sustaining post, a spacing member extending parallel to the ground, secured at one side to the sustaining post and carrying at the other side a supporting member to which the rail is secured.
The rail supporting member is mounted on the spacing element so as to be swingable about a fulcrum parallel to the longitudinal direction of the rail and located at a level not coinciding with the level of the centerline of the rail. Shock absorbing mechanisms are provided to dampen the swinging movement of the supporting member around the fulcrum, following the impact of a vehicle against the rail, in a manner which is proportional to the intensity of the impact. The shock absorbing mechanisms comprise a pin or other suitable connecting or coupling element which connects the supporting member to the spacing element at a certain distance from the fulcrum and which is adapted to tear or rupture an area weakened by holes which are located on the supporting member and/or spacing element.

Guardrail Definition |
|
|
Guard rail or guardrail, sometimes referred to as guide rail or railing, is a system designed to keep people or vehicles from (in most cases unintentionally) straying into dangerous or off-limits areas. A handrail is less restrictive than a guard rail and provides both support and the protective limitation of a boundary.
Public safety
Most public spaces are fitted with guard rails as a means of protection against accidental falls. Any abrupt change in elevation where the higher portion is accessible makes a fall possible. Due to this responsibility and liability, rails are placed to protect people using the premises. Guardrails are generally required by code where there is a drop of 30" or more.
Examples of this are both architectural and environmental. Environmental guard rails are placed along hiking trails where adjacent terrain is steep. Railings may also be located at scenic overlooks.
Guard rails in buildings are numerous, and are required by building codes in many circumstances. Guard rails along stairways are common, and catwalks and balconies are also lined with them.
Building codes also require that no opening in a guard be of a size such that a 4" sphere may pass. There are three exceptions according to the 2003 International Building Code Section 1012.3 which allow openings to not exceed 8" or 21" depending on occupancy groups or special areas.
An architect who was famous for creative use of handrails for social stability was Alvar Aalto. The guard rails of an observation tower such as the Space Needle or Eiffel Tower become exaggerated to the point of becoming a fence or cage. This is also done on bridges and overpasses to prevent accidents and suicides.

We can manufacture W Beam (Profile A), Profile B, and different types of steel posts (C Posts, U Posts, Sigma Posts) and blocks, we can also supply bolts, nuts and washers, reflector, cat's eye, and relevant components, etc.
We manufacture highway guardrails mainly according to those Standards below:
a. JT/T 281-1995(Corrugated Sheet Steel Beams For Expressway Guardrail - China)
b. AASHTO-M180 (Corrugated Sheet Steel Beams For Highway Guardrail - USA)
c. RAL RG620 (Germany)
d. Or tailor-make according to client's requirements
1. Types:
Type I. hot dip galvanized: 550 g/m2 (40µ)
Type II. hot dip galvanized:1100 g/m2 (80µ) or 1200 g/m2 (85µ)
2. Class:
Class A-1: 2.67 mm base metal nominal thickness, Steel Grade Q235 (equivalent to S235JR according to DIN EN10025 and Gr.D according to ASTM A283M)
Class A-2: 2.67 mm base metal nominal thickness, Steel Grade Q345 (equivalent to S355JR according to DIN EN10025 1994 and Gr.50[345] according to ASTM A529M)
Class B-1: 3.43 mm base metal nominal thickness, Steel Grade Q235 (equivalent to S235JR according to DIN EN10025 and Gr.D according to ASTM A283M)
Class B-2: 3.0 mm base metal nominal thickness, Steel Grade Q235 (equivalent to S235JR according to DIN EN10025 and Gr.D according to ASTM A283M)
